I Hate My Daughter Because She Looks Exactly Like My mom, Who I Caught Doing This With My Husband

I’m a 22-year-old lady. My mom is from Edo State, Nigeria, while my dad is from South Africa. But I was born and raised in Nigeria. My parents got divorced when I was 8 years old. My dad remarried and moved to the U.S. Ever since then, he never reached out to me or my mom. He doesn’t even care about my existence. His family never liked my mom, so that didn’t help either.

Ever since then, it’s been my mom and me against the world. Life was not easy. I had to stop school for a whole year because my mom couldn’t afford to pay WAEC. I did all sorts of menial jobs, but the finances were never enough. She was the only person I cherished in the world. At least, she used to be.

At some point, my mom fell sick, and I had to start working. The man I started working for, who gave me a job opportunity, turned me into a sex slave. I was only 18 at the time, and his first child was 24. So this man was old enough to be my father’s oldest brother. He would sleep with me anytime and anywhere he wanted.

I couldn’t tell my mom because I needed the money to take care of her. She was sick. When my mom finally recovered, I told the man I wanted to quit the job, but he gave me an offer. He said that if I continued being his side piece, he would sponsor my education. I knew that more than anything, I needed the education, so I accepted. That was the worst decision of my life.

I lied to my mom, telling her that this man found me working hard and decided to sponsor my education. I never told her he was sleeping with me. I took my WAEC and JAMB exams that same year, and this man fulfilled his promise. I started school, and he even started a business for my mom. She thought he was a godsend, but I was using my body to pay the price.

He honestly took very good care of me. He changed my phone, got me wigs, and took me shopping every single week. For a girl who didn’t have anything, imagine a man showing up and throwing everything in my face. I mean, if I left this man, where would I start from? Who would take care of me? Who would pay my school fees?

So, I had no choice. I didn’t complain.

In my 200 level, I met a new guy. I actually met him through TikTok. TikTok has turned into the new dating site! We exchanged contacts, and it turned out he lived close to my school, which made everything easy. He was very good-looking, tall, financially stable, and a little older.

I decided to pay him a visit. One thing led to another, and we had sex. Not just once. It didn’t end there. It started happening over and over again. It was good sex.

Two months into our sex adventure, I fell deeply in love with him, and we officially started dating. After a while, I decided to open up to him about my sponsor in school. This really got him mad. He told me to cut ties with the old man and promised he would continue sponsoring my education. Of course, I obliged.

Girl, I don’t know if I should say I’m lucky. I mean, two men sponsoring my education? Even though the first one is a pedophile and an old fool. His children probably think he’s a good father, not knowing he’s a father you should pray against.

And imagine finding a young, handsome guy who’s willing to sponsor your education, even after knowing you had a sugar daddy. Life is strange.

After my young, handsome boyfriend told me to break up with my sugar daddy, of course, I did. I was ecstatic. I officially ended things with this man, and since my boyfriend and I had been together for a few months, I decided it was time for me to introduce him to my mom—the only person that I had in the whole world. My mom was so happy. It was exactly the kind of reaction I was expecting from her because I’ve always wanted to make her happy, and this news was making her really happy.

A few months later, I got pregnant, and I told my boyfriend. He was so happy; he was filled with joy and went crazy. I had to tell my mom about it, and in her words, she said, “I just want you to be happy,” so yes, I saw that as a go-ahead. Within two months, we concluded the marriage rites, and I was officially a married woman—married to the love of my life. My husband suggested that my mom move into our house to help me. I was a young girl who was pregnant and still in school, and this sounded really good to me. I wanted my mom around, of course.

I put her to bed, had my daughter, and my mom did not mention leaving. She didn’t leave, and my husband didn’t talk about it. He didn’t have a problem with it, so this made me really happy because I was having my mom around more. Life felt so good to me; I had my mom, I had my husband, I had my daughter, and my mom was actually taking care of my daughter whenever I went to school. She really made things easy for me.

Everything went sour in my final year. I noticed the weird closeness between my mom and my husband, but I just chose to ignore it because which mother would do that to her daughter? My husband only ate the food prepared by my mom; he bought her clothes. At some point, I even noticed he bought her underwear. Which son-in-law buys his mother-in-law underwear? I decided to confide in one of my friends, and she confirmed my fears. So, I told myself I was going to find out if something was really going on or if I was being paranoid.

On my mom’s 47th birthday, my husband decided to throw her a birthday party—something he had never done for me. One night, on my mother’s birthday, I walked in on my husband feeding my mother, and I was like, “What the fuck is going on?” I was so scared. I mean, tell me why you guys are even doing this to the point where you’re not even caring about your daughter’s presence. You’re just doing whatever it is you wanted to do. You’re sleeping with mother and daughter, and you are so nonchalant about it.

Another day, I found used condoms in my mom’s room, and this made me even more scared. Thank God they were using protection, because how would you imagine having another child from your mother and your husband? That’s going to be your sister and your child’s sister. Eww. I lied to my mom and husband that I had a wedding to attend and that I would be gone for a week. I could sense the excitement, even though they pretended to be okay with it. I took the spare keys to the entire house and left for my friend’s house. I left with my daughter, of course.

That night, I went back to the house. I snuck in, actually, but they were both not at home. Then I reassured myself that I was wrong—that I probably thought wrong. The next night, I decided to go again, and this time around, I went earlier than the time I went the previous day. I tiptoed to my mom’s room, heard loud moans, and started fidgeting. I opened the door to the room, and I saw a sight that I would never forget. My mom sat on my husband, riding him. My nervous system failed me. I couldn’t move. I was just still. My mom froze when she saw me; she started begging and crying. Of course, she came off the bed. Her husband came down and said the cliché words, “It is not what you think.” It is exactly what I saw. My mom and my husband had been having sex all along.

I finally struggled to leave the apartment, and my friend came to pick me up. Later on, my mom left the city because I never hesitated to tell anyone who wanted to hear about what she did. I told every nook and cranny about the atrocities she committed with my husband. As for my husband, after several pleas from him, he finally signed the divorce papers because I was done with his ass. The problem is that I need help so much. Even though I left the city after school, I hate my daughter. I can’t help it. I resent her so much; she looks exactly like my mom, and every time I see my daughter, I remember the dreadful sight that I saw—my mom, sister, and my husband. I’ve gone to therapy, but nothing has worked. I really want to love my daughter, and I want to be a better mother. I can’t help it; I don’t know what to do.

You have to forgive yourself because you did not make that happen. You didn’t put them in that situation. Number two, your mom is a different person; your daughter is a different person. Your daughter came out of you. Number three, your daughter looks like your mom because you are your mother’s daughter. So as long as you still love yourself for being your mother’s daughter, there’s nothing you can do about your daughter. You have to find a way to love her as well. More therapy is needed, and please advise in the comment section. To share your stories with me, send an email to me at gossipme41@gmail.com . Thank you.
